November 8th

November 8th

The feathers settling within the counterpane
Quilted with constellations
The girl under the black satin star  map
How she can fly on the ice!
Switch and turn on a thunderflash stage
Shared her  greasy fish with the cat
Who nestles  above Orion
Purring love’s sleepy name..

One Response to November 8th

  1. John Looker says:

This is an intriguing poem, Veronica, and can be interpreted in many ways, and in many moods. I notice how your tags include child neglect and poverty – yet also love and family. Perhaps the choice depends upon the reader. I’m taking it in a positive spirit today!
