Nocturnal Self

Nocturnal Self
The slowing of time is caused by a  vast penumbra
Shadows join hands, breasts, stomachs, thighs
Until there is only one deep stain leaking light
This night is painted with streaks of inconclusive acts
An amnesiac iteration of the day’s tense steps
Sharp pain is now black vinyl turning at 33rpm
Speech stretched, throbbing at some infrasound
Beneath the star bowl ringed by clouds
The  elementals repeat their cries
The mouths of owls-
Twin-talk, idioglossic forest words.
